a weekend away shopping

a weekend away shopping

This is a polyvore board I did a couple of years ago.  I really would like a weekend away shopping.
It seems like most of my social media and interest in all things trendy ended a couple of years ago.  Let's see, at that time, I had just accepted a full time job as the General Manager of a brand new restaurant.  Since opening the restaurant, I have been burning the candle at both ends and then juggling the candles!  My son, Walter was born just over a year ago...WHAT?!  How is that even possible?
St. Patrick's Day last year vs. this year.  Gee whiz, I look thinner, but let me tell you - I am not!  The baby is fatter too, but he is supposed to be, HA!

I'm not one to set New Years resolutions - mostly because I forget about them in less than two seconds - but something has got to be done about getting the pounds off this body, ugh!  So, wake up early at 5am or head to bed after midnight?  Either way I'd be exercising in the cold/dark after/before a long day at work, sounds great!  How do people with kids and full time jobs work out?  I'm telling you it's not possible.  Unless you have a Harry Potter time traveler.  Who am I kidding, I'd use it to sleep.

The "down time" is over...

Only TWO MORE MONTHS until September!!

Wyatt and I weren't doing too much over the last couple months unless you include meeting with lighting guys and wedding designers and visiting the cake shop...  :)

I got a call last week saying my dress had come in and I needed to come try it on!  So, I picked up my Mom from work and drove down to Beverly Hills today.  Amy joined us as well, yay!  So, anyhow, the dress fits perfectly and I don't have to make any alterations.  The dress came home with me today!!  It got to lay down in the back seat of my truck. lol  Mom, Amy and I ate at Cafe Roma after the fitting and we all ordered the mushroom risotto, which was fantastic.

Morgan's dress should be in near the end of August (it better!!).  Mindy, my Mom and Patti all have their dresses and have made or are in the process of alterations.  Nicole has two dresses, but I'm not sure if she'll wear one, haha.  Amy is waiting for a closer date as she has a bun in the oven and wants the right size!!!

Also, ordered the invites when I got home tonight.  I think they'll be perfect.  I should have the proofs by Tuesday, and most likely will have them at the end of next week or early the week after and then they'll be in the mail!

I'm also busy finalizing my yet TODO list.  Wyatt will digitize it and then the list will be official and real (and we can start getting everything done!).

Yay, for crunch time!

Website bios updated!

Hi friends!

Wyatt finally wrote his bio for our website which you can see here.

I also updated mine a tad.

Yay!  Wedding is 4 months out and we are getting more done all the time.  Most recently we ordered the wedding favors, decided on the cake, booked the valet guys and the tents are almost finished (where all the kids will be stationed during the event).  I'll try to post some pics, they are way cool.

Save the dates are sent!

Wyatt and I returned from Uruguay (happy to be home) to find our pictures from Halberg Photography ready for us to view and use to finish our save the date cards!  Let me tell you, it's hard to narrow 193 photos down to one to send everyone.  We chose the photo that says the most about us and hope you like it!

Now the envelopes are addressed, sealed, stamped and headed your way!  Let us know what you think about them. :)

Here are my top 11 favorites (who can only choose 10?):

website update

I spent the better part of last night searching google images for photos from the 50s to add to our wedding site.  I love that you can type in anything you want into the search bar and there are instant images.  What would they say about this technology in the 50s?!

check out the progress:

dress shopping is fun!

I say that because I almost had more fun trying on bridesmaids dresses than bridal dresses!  haha, I'm very strange.  It was too easy for me, I've been obsessing over the same dress for a long time and when it came time to try it on, I was a bit nervous.  Besides the dress being a size 14 sample, I loved it!  Janet, our wonderful personal shopper can do amazing things with clamps.  I won't include any photos of the dress I got, but I will post some fun bridesmaids shots!  Yay, for public humiliation!  lol  love you girls!

All dresses are by Priscilla of Boston.

no one ever told me...

...that registering would be EXHAUSTING!

This past Friday, we had an errand to run in SB and happened to have a few hours to kill.  We ended up at Pottery Barn and William-Sonoma registering!  They had us fill out a sheet, gave us a check list to keep us on track and set us loose in the store.  There must have been at least three sales persons that said "scan everything you can".  I guess to give people more options?  Or to make it easier to sell gift cards, I have no idea.  I guess we just went nuts on the stores.  Wyatt was sick after leaving PB just from all the "aroma" drifting through the store.  Looking back over the registries today, I realize there's no real direction, but oh well - we don't have a place to put all this stuff any how.  ha!  We'll also register at Target, Costco (our favorite store...do they have registry available?), Sur la table and somewhere like Home Depot.  LOL, seems like a lot!  Well, if you're interested, our current registries are on our website, www.brieandwyatt.com under "if you insist".  Let me know if you have any suggestions.
