...that registering would be EXHAUSTING!
This past Friday, we had an errand to run in SB and happened to have a few hours to kill. We ended up at Pottery Barn and William-Sonoma registering! They had us fill out a sheet, gave us a check list to keep us on track and set us loose in the store. There must have been at least three sales persons that said "scan everything you can". I guess to give people more options? Or to make it easier to sell gift cards, I have no idea. I guess we just went nuts on the stores. Wyatt was sick after leaving PB just from all the "aroma" drifting through the store. Looking back over the registries today, I realize there's no real direction, but oh well - we don't have a place to put all this stuff any how. ha! We'll also register at Target, Costco (our favorite store...do they have registry available?), Sur la table and somewhere like Home Depot. LOL, seems like a lot! Well, if you're interested, our current registries are on our website, www.brieandwyatt.com under "if you insist". Let me know if you have any suggestions.

we were blessed to find the halbergs! they were willing to work with our budget and their photos are amazing! check out their site: The Halbergs
Now onto book the band and florist! Since our theme is vintage 50's, we're thinking 50s/60s cover band...what say you?

vendor crunch time
Seriously? Is is really January already? I suppose if you're getting married in September...on a novelty date that's a Saturday in September, and you still haven't booked a photographer or band by the January before, you'd probably feel a little like I do at the moment. PANIC. Well, maybe not that extreme, but a definite background of emotion that your wedding day will somehow not happen if you don't get your butt in gear. I'm a life long procrastinator and it's really time to put that behind me. If I can stop biting my finger nails after 23 years, I can do all. I've got an email out to a local photographer, who will hopefully be able to work with our budget. As for band/dj...we've really gotten nowhere. We have narrowed the styles of music down to jazz, bluegrass, and rock. We almost went in the Flogging Molly direction, but ultimately decided it didn't really go with our theme. We're doing a non pretentious, backyard, vintage 50's style party. Wyatt's love of maps and trains, planes, cars, etc. and my Coca-Cola collection should fit together beautifully as it is in my head. We of course still need flowers and possibly a filmmaker if I can talk Wyatt into it. :) We're lucky to have such a beautiful venue provided to us through Wyatt's work. Amazing. Also, Stephanie Valentine has agreed to set our menu and make it for us in exchange for riding lessons for her kids. How great is that? Wow, well now that I think about it, we do have a lot covered for the time we've been engaged. So now I can be less worried...just breathe.
